Memorial Day is a day set aside to remember. To honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to this country. Those who didn’t come home. Those whose sacrifice made the life we live possible.
It’s easy to let the day slip into something else. A long weekend. Time with family. Barbecues, the beach, the start of summer. There’s nothing wrong with enjoying those things—they matter too. Time with the people we love is something worth holding onto.
But it’s worth pausing… even if only for a moment. To remember why we have that time. To think of those who served and gave everything. The families who carry that loss. The lives that were changed in ways most of us will never fully understand.
Gratitude doesn’t have to be loud. Sometimes it’s simply taking a quiet moment and remembering.
So as you go about your day—whatever it holds—take a moment to reflect. To be thankful. To honor those who made a sacrifice we can never repay.
They are not forgotten.
